Our Purposes
|
 |
We
aim at:
- Enhancing
the artistic production of sugared almonds
in the city of Sulmona. It is excellent
thanks to the craftsmen's undisputed
skill: they have handed the secrets
of working down for ages; neverthless
they are introducing innovations in
the manufacturing process, thus making
products which are peculiar and interesting
as to shapes and colours (sugared almond
flowers, fruit, geometric shapes, reproductions
of monuments, the famous sugared almond
small baskets of Sulmona and many other
products coming from our craftsmen's
creativeness).
- Enhancing
the craft production of spirits according
to the local tradition. This idea comes
from the awareness that there is a great
economic market potential, which cannot
develop yet because of the policy of
several businessmen: they make artisans
produce small amounts, that are sold
above all along the main street of the
city (Corso Ovidio) to tourists passing
through Sulmona.
Through this enterprise the entrepreneur
aims at enhancing the market's strong
points, i.e.:
~ availability of high-quality products
thanks to the craftsmen's remarkable
skill
~ recognition of the excellence of Sulmona
sugared almond artistic production at
a national and perhaps at a worldwide
level
~ competitive prices thanks to low fixed
prices in selling outlets (few employees
and assignment of production work to
craftsmen who work in their own houses
and are often helped by their family
members).
In addition the enterpreneur aims at
reducing or eliminating the weak points
of that kind of market, due mainly to:
~ lack of marketing and aggressive selling
policy on wider markets by looking for
new sale channels and by taking enterpreneurial
decisions systematically and according
to clear and precise objectives
~ precariousness of craftsmen's work
correlated with the unsteadiness of
local tourism
~ low salary for craftsmen, who often
work without regular fiscal and social
security position (consequently the
craftsman is obliged to look for another
job in addition to the previous one.
Because of that need the craftsman cannot
plan his artistic work at his best).
Planned strategy.
~ A trademark will be created and registered
both to protect the peculiarity of the
artistic production of Sulmona sugared
almonds and to guarantee the customer
the product's origin. The trademark
will encourage the sale of the product
out of the city too at better prices
for all the people who take part in
the production. New business will allow
to get earnings and to pay the craftsmen
properly: the craftsmen, ensuring the
exclusive manufacturing rights, will
be able to benefit from more remunerative
contracts for work and skill, thus regularizing
their own fiscal and social security
position.
In
the initial stages a school will be created
in order to:
- hand
the know-how of old craftsmen down to
jobless youths who will want to work
for our firm,
- standardize,
making them excellent, the production
techniques known by the craftsmen, who
will negotiate with each other in order
to get the Total Quality of our products.
~ The craftsmen will be able to work
inside the firm or in their own houses
thus organizing their own work flexibly;
in addition they will make fixed-term
or permanent contracts. We will produce
the sugared almonds used to make flowers
and other artistic creations. We will
produce sugared almonds whose quality
is correlated to their real usage (e.g.,
sugared almonds produced for tasty are
not suitable to make a flower, as it
requires long and thin sugared almonds
as petals). That should decrease the
production cost too: in fact, the sugared
almond would be produced not only for
its organoleptic properties but above
all for its geometric shapes, in order
to make a product characterized by more
tempting shapes and colours. This attention
to shape and colour will contribute
to enhance the product, which will be
sold at more remunerative prices.
